Stamping die is used for cutting, bending, stretching and other processing of metal plates. It is widely used in automobile body, hardware products and other industries. It needs to withstand high frequency of metal impact and friction, and it is easy to have edge cracking, die surface wear, deformation and other failures. Blade wear will lead to excessive burr of stamping parts, and disintegrated products will be scrapped directly. The traditional heat treatment strengthening process is difficult to improve the impact toughness of the die, and the replacement of high hardness die steel is expensive. Based on the impact wear condition of stamping die, Dow Laser Cladding Equipment adopts high-strength wear-resistant alloy powder cladding scheme. Through optimizing cladding process parameters (laser power 1200W, powder feeding rate 18g/min, scanning speed 400mm/min), the cladding hardness can reach HRC60-65, and at the same time, it has excellent toughness to avoid blade edge cracking.
The dynamic path planning system equipped with the equipment can accurately adapt to the complex cutting edge and cavity structure of the stamping die to achieve uniform cladding. In a hardware factory, the punching die of stainless steel dining plate was worn every 20000 times before, resulting in excessive burr on the dining plate, and the rejection rate reached 4.5%. The service life of the cutting edge is extended to 60000 times of stamping, the scrap rate is reduced to 1.2%, and the replacement cost of a single set of die can be saved by over 80000 yuan per year after being reinforced with Dow laser cladding equipment. In addition, the impact resistance of the die after cladding is improved by 40%, which can meet the high strength stamping requirements of 1.5mm-thick stainless steel plates. Compared with the traditional die, the application scope is wider, helping enterprises expand the product category. The repair cycle only takes 1 day, which is much shorter than the 7-day cycle for replacing new moulds, effectively reducing the production interruption loss.
