Laser Quenching equipment

Laser quenching equipment uses high-energy density laser beams to quickly and accurately scan and heat the surface of metal workpieces, and achieves martensitic transformation through self cooling of the workpiece, thereby obtaining a strengthening layer with extremely high hardness, super wear resistance, and excellent corrosion resistance. Compared with traditional heat treatments such as induction quenching and flame quenching, our laser quenching technology has significant advantages such as minimal deformation, low energy consumption, no need for cooling medium, and high degree of automation. It is an ideal choice for improving the performance and extending the life of key components.

Product Details

Core working principle

Precision heating:

After being focused by an optical system, a high-power laser beam scans a specific area of the workpiece under the control of a machine tool or robot, causing it to heat up to above the phase transition point in a very short time (milliseconds).

Self cooling quenching:

The heating process is extremely rapid, and the heat cannot be transferred to the inside of the workpiece in time. After the laser beam is moved away, the heated surface will undergo rapid cooling (self quenching) through the huge substrate of the workpiece itself, achieving martensitic transformation.

Precision control:

The entire process is precisely controlled by a computer, and energy input, scanning path, spot shape, and overlap rate can all be programmed to ensure high consistency and repeatability of processing results.

Advantages and Characteristics

1、 Accuracy and controllability

The heat affected zone is extremely small: the deformation can be ignored, and there is no need or only a small amount of precision machining required in the future.

Selective processing: It can precisely strengthen specific areas of complex shaped parts (such as grooves, blind holes, edges), avoiding problems caused by overall heat treatment.

Controllable layer depth: The depth of the hardened layer can be precisely adjusted within the range of 0.1-1.0mm according to process parameters.

2、 Environmental Protection and Efficiency

Cleaning process: No need for water, oil or other quenching media, no pollution, no chemical waste, in compliance with environmental protection requirements.

Extremely low energy consumption: only surface treatment, high energy concentration utilization rate, saving more than 60% energy compared to traditional methods.

Integrated automation: It can be easily integrated into robots or CNC machines to achieve unmanned production line operations, greatly improving production efficiency.

3、 Performance improvement

Ultra high hardness: The obtained hardness is usually 15-20% higher than conventional quenching, and the structure is finer.

Wear resistance: The surface wear resistance can be increased by 1-10 times, significantly extending the service life of the workpiece.

Corrosion resistance: The formed compressive stress layer helps to suppress crack initiation and propagation, and improve fatigue strength.
