Die casting die is in high temperature, high pressure, cold and hot alternating environment for a long time. Wearing, crack, die adhesion and other problems are easy to occur in the mold cavity, gate and other parts, which directly affect the quality of castings and the service life of die. The Dow Laser Cladding Equipment is specially designed for die casting die repair and reinforcement, which can accurately repair die wear and cracks. Ultrafine alloy powder is used to form a coating metallurgically bonded with the die base material through laser high temperature cladding. The coating hardness can be adjusted to HRC55-HRC65 according to the needs. It has high hardness and good toughness, effectively resisting wear and thermal shock.
The equipment supports complex curved surface path planning, and can accurately repair key parts such as mold cavity and core pulling. After repair, the dimensional accuracy error of the mold is ≤ 0.03mm, without subsequent large amount of polishing. The service life of die casting die treated by Dow laser cladding is 2-3 times longer, the die adhesion phenomenon is significantly reduced, the qualification rate of casting is increased by 8% - 12%, the cost of die replacement and maintenance is greatly reduced, and the considerable economic benefits are created for the die casting enterprises.
