Laser Welding for Automotive EV Inverter Housings
Date:2026-03-20 14:31     Source:daokedao     Browse:48
EV inverters convert DC power from the battery to AC power for the electric motor, requiring high thermal stability (up to 150°C), insulation (≥10¹²Ω), and hermetic sealing. These housings are made of high-performance plastics like PC/ABS and PA66-GF, demanding a welding process that does not damage internal electronics. Traditional welding methods may introduce thermal stress or vibration that damages inverter components, leading to power loss or failure. DaokeDao laser welding provides a non-contact, low-thermal-impact solution with precise energy control. The heat-affected zone is limited to ≤0.2mm, avoiding material deformation and preserving insulation performance. It achieves IP67 hermetic sealing, preventing moisture and dust intrusion. Our systems support large, complex inverter housing designs (size ≥400mm×300mm×100mm) and high-volume production (up to 65 units/hour), complying with IEC 62133 and IATF 16949 standards. By improving inverter reliability, DaokeDao laser welding helps EV manufacturers enhance vehicle performance and reduce post-market failures.
