Ceramic mold is the key part for forming ceramic products (such as ceramic tiles, ceramic tableware, industrial ceramics, etc.). Its surface accuracy and wear resistance directly affect the forming quality and dimensional accuracy of ceramic products. In the process of ceramic molding, the die needs to bear the extrusion and friction of ceramic blank and the temperature change in the subsequent drying and sintering process, so the die cavity wear, angle collapse, surface peeling and other faults are easy to occur. These faults will cause rough surface of ceramic products, large dimensional deviation, incomplete edges and corners, and affect product quality; At the same time, the ceramic mold is fragile, difficult to repair, and the traditional repair method has poor effect. In most cases, only a new mold can be replaced, and the cost is high. Based on the repair requirements of ceramic mold, Dow Laser Cladding Equipment adopts high hardness wear-resistant alloy coating cladding scheme. The coating hardness reaches HRC62-65, which has excellent wear-resistant performance and certain toughness, and can effectively repair the mold wear and broken corner defects.
The equipment adopts the micro-beam laser cladding technology to accurately control the cladding energy and scope and avoid further damage of the mould during the repair process. The high-precision positioning system can accurately capture the position and contour data of die cavity wear and chipping angle, generate the personalized cladding path, and ensure that the dimensional accuracy deviation of the repaired die cavity is ≤ ± 0.005mm, completely consistent with the original design. The cladding layer forms a solid mechanical bond with the ceramic mold matrix, and the bonding strength is ≥ 350MPa, which can effectively resist the extrusion friction of the ceramic blank and avoid the re-wear of the repaired part. For the special-shaped bowl mold of a ceramic tableware factory, the edge angle of the tableware produced by the mold cavity was incomplete and the surface was rough, with a rejection rate of 5.2%. It took 120000 yuan to replace a new mold, and the supply cycle was 10 days. The precision of mould cavity is completely recovered after the repair with Dow laser cladding equipment, the surface finish of ceramic tableware is improved by 2 grades, and the scrap rate is reduced to 1.1%. The repair cost is only 25% of the replacement cost, and the repair cycle only takes 2 days, effectively guaranteeing the continuous production of the enterprise. At the same time, the wear resistance of the die after cladding is increased by 3 times, and the service life is extended from 8000 die times to 24000 die times, greatly reducing the equipment maintenance cost and production loss of the enterprise.
