The electrode of the welding machine is subject to arc erosion and compression wear during high-temperature welding. The service life of traditional pure copper electrodes is only 500-800 welding points, and frequent replacement affects welding efficiency. The Daokedao automated laser cladding equipment uses Cu-W50 copper tungsten alloy powder to fuse a 2mm strengthening layer on the electrode head. The conductivity of the cladding layer reaches 60% of pure copper, the hardness is HRC40-45, and the resistance to arc erosion is four times higher than that of pure copper. The application in a certain automobile welding workshop shows that the service life of electrodes after melting has been extended to 3000-4000 welding points, the welding defect rate has been reduced from 3% to 0.5%, and the annual cost savings of electrodes for a single welding machine exceed 6000 yuan.
