The drill bit of the wine oak barrel drilling machine needs to accurately drill breathable holes with a diameter of 10mm on hard oak. If the aperture deviation exceeds 0.1mm, it will affect the sealing performance of the oak barrel. Traditional high-speed steel drill bits wear out after drilling 50 barrels due to insufficient hardness (HRC55), resulting in aperture deviation. After being applied in a century old oak barrel factory in Spain, the lifespan of the drill bit has been extended to 400 barrels, and the aperture deviation has been reduced from ± 0.2mm to ± 0.05mm. The sealing qualification rate of oak barrels has increased from 96% to 99.9%, completely solving the problem of wine oxidation caused by poor sealing. The annual cost of drill bit procurement is 30000 US dollars, and it has also obtained the designated supplier qualifications of top wineries such as Penfolds and Lafite.
