During the operation of the motor, the surface of the inner hole of the gray cast iron end cover is often worn due to friction with the shaft, resulting in excessive clearance and affecting the stable operation of the equipment. Laser cladding technology can effectively repair and strengthen such end caps. By preparing a composite structure of a nickel based bottom layer (0.2-0.4mm) and a hard alloy strengthening layer (0.7-0.9mm) on the surface of the inner hole of the end cap, the fusion layer forms a metallurgical bond with the substrate, which is firmly bonded and not easily detached. This process can significantly improve the wear resistance of the inner hole surface of the end cap, while the nickel based alloy layer also provides good corrosion resistance. The laser cladding process has a small heat input, effectively controlling the cracking problems that are prone to occur in cast iron parts, and extending the service life of the repaired end caps.
