Blade of mud pump is a key component in mining, geological exploration, river dredging and other fields. It is used to transport high-concentration mud, slurry and other media. Its wear resistance directly determines the service life and operation efficiency of mud pump. During the transportation of high-concentration mud, sand particles, rock particles and other hard impurities in mud will cause strong erosion and wear on the blade surface, resulting in thinning of blade thickness, aerodynamic performance degradation, and even blade perforation, fracture and other failures. Most blades of traditional mud pump are made of ordinary wear-resistant steel, with short service life. They can only be used for 15-20 days under severe working conditions. Frequent replacement of blades will cause operation interruption and increase equipment maintenance cost and labor cost. Aiming at the high concentration slurry erosion of mud pump blades, Dow Laser Cladding Equipment adopts the tungsten base wear-resistant alloy coating cladding scheme. The alloy has extremely high hardness and wear resistance, and the erosion resistance is 4 times of that of common wear-resistant steel.

By optimizing cladding process parameters, the equipment ensures metallurgical bonding between cladding layer and blade matrix, with bonding strength ≥ 550MPa and not easy to fall off. At the same time, the layered cladding process is adopted to make the cladding thickness uniform, and the coating thickness (0.5-3mm) can be flexibly adjusted according to the slurry concentration and erosion strength. The blades of XY-4 mud pump of a geological exploration team can only be used for 15 days in high-concentration slurry transportation, and the replacement cost of a single set of blades exceeds 2000 yuan. The service life of the blade is extended to 60 days after being treated with Dow laser cladding equipment, and the service life is increased by 3 times. The replacement cost of a single set of blade can be saved by over 40000 yuan per year. At the same time, the blade aerodynamic performance after cladding is better, the mud conveying efficiency is increased by 10%, the energy consumption of the equipment is reduced, and a single mud pump can save more than 30000 yuan in electricity cost per year. This technology effectively solves the industry pain point of easily worn mud pump blade and improves the efficiency and economical efficiency of exploration operation.
