Stamping die plays an indispensable role in the metal processing industry, especially in the process of stamping forming of steel plate and aluminum plate, the die edge is subject to high frequency impact and fierce friction for a long time, wearing and cracking are frequent. It is difficult to maintain the cutting edge sharpness of traditional moulds in high-strength operation, which not only affects the product processing accuracy, but also increases the production cost and downtime due to frequent replacement of moulds. 

Dow automation laser cladding equipment adopts advanced laser cladding technology to cladding a special high-strength wear-resistant alloy layer for the cutting edge of stamping die. The alloy layer has excellent impact resistance and abrasion resistance, and its principle is that the alloy powder and the base material on the surface of the die are quickly fused by the high-energy laser beam, forming a dense and high bonding strength metallurgical layer, so that the mechanical property of the die edge is far more than that of the original material. 

Taking a hardware factory as an example, before introducing the laser cladding equipment of Dow, a single set of stamping die of the factory can only process 30000 parts, and the cutting edge is seriously worn, so frequent grinding operation is required. Wear-resistant performance is greatly improved by adopting Dow laser cladding technology to strengthen the cutting edge of die. The number of parts that can be machined by a single set of die jumps to 90000 pieces, which is totally increased by 3 times. At the same time, the grinding frequency of the die cutting edge is reduced by 70%, effectively reducing the downtime maintenance time, significantly improving the production efficiency and reducing the comprehensive production cost of the enterprise.
