Water pumps are widely used in industrial and civil fields, and the erosion of blades by sediment-laden flow is an outstanding problem. As the core equipment of industrial fluid transmission and civil water supply system, the blades of water pump will be continuously impacted and cut by solid particles when operating in sandy flow environment. Based on the material wear study data, when the sediment content in the water exceeds 50kg/m ³, the material loss rate on the blade surface will increase exponentially, resulting in a decrease in pump efficiency of 3% - 5% per month.
By virtue of self-developed coaxial powder feeding system and intelligent temperature control technology, Dow's automatic laser cladding equipment can accurately cladding high-performance wear-resistant alloy layers such as tungsten carbide base and nickel-chromium-boron silicon on the working surface of blade. Through 1000-1500W high energy density laser beam, a metallurgical bonding layer with a depth of 0.3-0.8mm is formed between the alloy powder and the base material, and the surface roughness Ra is ≤ 3.2 μ m. The hydrodynamic simulation shows that the effect on the flow resistance coefficient is less than 2%.
Taking the D155-30 × 4 multistage centrifugal pump of a large water supply company in Northwest China for an example, the blade is cladded with Dow equipment, and the coating micro-hardness reaches HV800-1000 through the test of a third-party testing agency, and the wear resistance is 2.5 times higher than that of the base material. The actual operation data shows that the efficiency of the pump unit is increased from 75% to 82% before reconstruction, and the annual operation time of a single equipment is 8000 hours. Calculated according to the electricity price of 0.6 yuan/kWh, the annual electricity cost can be saved by 12.67 million yuan. Compared with the traditional surfacing repair technology, the service life of the blade treated by laser cladding is 1.8 times longer, and the frequency of shutdown maintenance is reduced by 60%.
