Once precision molds such as injection mold cavities and die-casting mold cores are scratched or worn, traditional arc welding repair will produce a 2-3mm heat affected zone, resulting in defects such as shrinkage and deformation of the mold. After repair, the dimensional qualification rate of the parts produced by the mold is often less than 85%. The heat input of the Daokedao laser cladding equipment is only 1/10 of that of arc welding, and the heat affected zone is compressed to<0.1mm, effectively avoiding thermal deformation and internal defects of the mold. After repair, the dimensional tolerance of the mold cavity can be controlled within ± 0.01mm, fully matching the requirements of precision injection molding. A mobile phone shell mold factory in Japan previously scrapped 2-3 sets of molds worth hundreds of thousands of yuan per month due to poor arc welding repair results.
