The parting surface of the die casting die is subject to the clamping pressure and the impact of the metal liquid for a long time, which is easy to be worn and deformed, resulting in excessive casting fins and burrs, and increasing the subsequent cleaning workload. The traditional parting surface repair adopts grinding method, which cannot improve the wear resistance and has high maintenance frequency.
The Dow laser cladding equipment is applied with wear-resistant alloy powder on the parting surface to form a uniform and dense reinforced coating. The coating hardness is above HRC60, which can effectively resist the impact of clamping pressure and metal liquid and reduce abrasion and deformation.
The equipment supports integral or partial cladding of the parting surface, and the coating thickness uniformity error is ≤ 0.03mm, which will not affect the die closing accuracy. The service life of the treated parting surface is 2-3 times longer, the occurrence rate of casting flash and burr is reduced by 85%, and the subsequent cleaning workload is reduced by 70%.
