The brake disc is subject to high-temperature quenching for a long time, which is easy to produce fine and micro-heat cracks. If not handled in time, the cracks will gradually expand and cause the brake disc fracture risk. Traditional polishing repair can only remove surface cracks and cannot eradicate deep damage. There are still potential safety hazards after repair, and in most cases, only new parts can be replaced.

The Dow Laser Cladding Equipment adopts the micro-beam laser crack repair technology. After accurately locating the crack position, the special repair alloy powder is injected into the crack to form a repair layer closely bonded with the base material. The temperature shall be controlled throughout the repair process to avoid secondary thermal damage. The strength of the repaired crack shall be consistent with the original material to completely eliminate the potential safety hazard.

At the same time, the equipment can integrally strengthen the surface of the brake disc, cladding the wear-resistant and heat-resistant coating, improve its thermal fatigue resistance and reduce the generation of thermal cracks from the source. The service life of the treated brake disc is more than 2 times longer, the thermal stability is significantly improved during braking, and the braking distance is shortened by 5% - 8%. Brake discs for passenger vehicles, commercial vehicles and heavy engineering machinery can be effectively repaired and safely upgraded.
