In die casting production, as the core component of liquid metal transmission, the material cup is subject to high-temperature scouring and mechanical wear for a long time, which is easy to cause problems such as inner wall strain and thickness reduction, directly resulting in the decline of casting qualification rate and the rise of replacement cost. The traditional repair welding method is easy to cause deformation of the material cup and degradation of the material performance, and it is difficult to meet the needs of high-precision production.
Dow laser cladding equipment adopts high-energy laser beam, accurately cladding the wear-resistant alloy powder on the wear surface of the cup to form a dense coating metallurgically bonded with the base material. The hardness of the coating can reach over HRC60, and the wear and temperature resistance is far more than the original material, which can effectively resist the erosion and friction of molten metal. The equipment supports accurate temperature control and path planning to avoid deformation of the material cup. The dimensional accuracy of the repaired material cup is consistent with that of the new part, and the service life is 3-5 times longer.
Compared with the replacement of new material cup, the repair cost of Dow laser cladding is only 1/3-1/2 of the new part, and the repair cycle is reduced to 24 hours, greatly reducing the production downtime. Whether it is aluminum alloy or zinc alloy die casting material cup, the equipment can be effectively repaired and strengthened, and become the core equipment for cost reduction and efficiency increase of die casting enterprises.
