Large power generation unit rotors and heavy-duty compressor disk journals, subjected to alternating stresses and occasional impact loads over time, are prone to deep wear and fatigue damage. Using the Daokedaow high-power laser cladding equipment, high-chromium iron-based alloy powder with excellent compatibility with the substrate is directly applied for cladding repair without preheating. Through multi-pass overlapping technology and precise interlayer temperature control, the cladding layer thickness can reach over 3mm without metallurgical cracks. The cladding layer has been tested to achieve a hardness of HRC 60-63, with wear resistance 4-5 times that of the base material. This technology is particularly suitable for on-site rapid repair of critical components such as turbine rotors in thermal power plants and main shafts of large centrifugal compressors, reducing the traditional off-site repair cycle from 45 days to within 7 days.
