The fundamental driving force behind the application of laser cladding technology in hydraulic pillar repair lies in the enormous economic benefits it brings. This article takes a damaged column with a diameter of 320mm as an example to conduct a comprehensive economic analysis of its laser cladding remanufacturing.


Cost composition: mainly includes equipment depreciation, powder consumption (about 1.5 yuan/kg · m for iron-based materials), labor, electricity consumption, and auxiliary materials. The cost of remanufacturing a single column is about 30% -40% of the purchase price of new parts. Time cycle: From disassembly, cleaning, cladding, machining to inspection, the entire remanufacturing cycle is about 5-7 days, much shorter than ordering new parts (usually 30-45 days). Performance and lifespan: As mentioned earlier, the surface properties (wear resistance, corrosion resistance) of remanufactured parts are superior to new ones, and their service life can usually be more than 1.5 times that of new parts.


Based on comprehensive calculations, using laser remanufacturing can save costs of over 60% for a single column, while avoiding significant production losses due to reduced downtime. In addition, remanufacturing reduces steel smelting and forging processing, saving energy by 60% and materials by more than 70%, which is in line with the national green and low-carbon industrial policy. Therefore, from both microeconomic and macroeconomic perspectives, laser cladding remanufacturing has unparalleled advantages.
