Due to continuous meshing friction, gearbox gears are prone to tooth surface wear, pitting, and tooth tip cracking, especially in manual transmission where gear shifting has a greater impact and a higher frequency of failures. Daokedao laser cladding uses nickel based tungsten carbide composite powder to form a wear-resistant coating with a thickness of 0.2-0.5mm on the tooth surface. The coating hardness reaches HRC58-62, and the anti pitting ability is 1.8 times higher than traditional carburizing process, reducing tooth surface wear by 70%.

For the complex tooth profile of gears, laser cladding achieves full coverage of the tooth surface and root through a multi axis linkage system, with no coating leakage points, and the processed tooth surface accuracy reaches IT7 level, which can be assembled without secondary grinding. The service life of the gearbox gears repaired by fusion coating is extended by 1.5 times, and the maintenance cost of a single gearbox is reduced by 50%. It is especially suitable for renovating old vehicle gearboxes and maintaining heavy-duty gears in commercial vehicles.
