The meshing section of a twin-screw extruder is prone to material sticking and wear due to the high-speed meshing of two screws, resulting in uneven material mixing and a 15-20% decrease in extrusion volume. On average, the screws need to be replaced every 12-18 months, and the cost of a single set of twin-screw exceeds 150000 yuan. Daokedao laser cladding uses Hastelloy C276 powder to form a 1.0mm thick coating on the surface of the meshing section with a 3KW laser. The coating has excellent corrosion resistance (acid and alkali resistance), a hardness of HRC50-55, significant anti adhesive properties, and high coating flatness, which does not affect the screw meshing accuracy. A certain chemical enterprise processed PVC-U pipe formula materials by melting the meshing section of a Φ 75mm twin-screw extruder. After continuous operation for 24 months, there was no obvious sticking or wear in the meshing section, and the extrusion volume remained stable at over 98% of the design value. Compared with non melted screws, the service life is extended by 2 times, the annual cost of screw replacement is saved by 100000 yuan, and the material qualification rate is increased from 88% to 99.5%.
