Laser cladding, also known as laser metal deposition, represents a profound change in the field of surface engineering and additive manufacturing. The core of the technical principle is to use the laser beam with high energy density as the heat source to instantly melt the high-performance metal powder or wire synchronously delivered to the workpiece surface, and form a tiny molten pool on the substrate. As the laser beam moves, the molten pool solidifies rapidly to form a dense coating that is firmly metallurgically bonded to the substrate. This process is not simply "attachment", but fusion at the molecular level. Through precise control system, the laser power, spot shape, scanning speed, powder feeding rate and shielding gas flow are digitally and accurately controlled by the DKD laser equipment, so as to ensure the extreme stability and repeatability of the cladding process. This technology fundamentally overcomes the inherent defects of traditional welding, such as large heat input, serious deformation and weak binding force of thermal spraying coating, and provides an unprecedented solution for life extension, efficiency improvement and performance upgrading of high-end industrial parts. It has become an indispensable core technology in the advanced manufacturing industry.
