Why Laser Welding Replaces Traditional Welding for Liquid Cooling Manifolds

Traditional welding processes such as TIG welding, MIG welding and brazing have long been used in liquid cooling manifold processing, but they have inherent defects that cannot adapt to high-standard cooling component production. These conventional processes feature large heat input, wide heat-affected zone and uncontrollable welding deformation, which easily cause manifold channel distortion, size deviation and internal stress concentration. In actual use, such defective manifolds are prone to liquid leakage, pressure resistance failure and performance attenuation under long-term hydraulic circulation and temperature alternating working conditions. DKD Automation’s laser welding machine completely changes the traditional processing mode through localized high-energy precise heating. The laser beam concentrates energy on the welding seam, completing metallurgical bonding in a short time with minimal peripheral heat conduction. The welded seam is dense and uniform without pores, slag inclusions and cracks. Compared with traditional processes, it reduces post-welding correction and repair processes by more than 90%, improves production efficiency, and ensures that each manifold can pass strict hydraulic pressure and helium leakage detection tests, meeting the long-term stable operation requirements of liquid cooling systems.
