Non-Contact Welding for Automotive Battery Components

Automotive battery components—including battery cell holders, module casings, and battery pack enclosures—require high sealing performance (IP67), structural strength (tensile strength ≥28MPa), and safety to ensure the reliable operation of EV and hybrid vehicle batteries. These components are made of high-performance plastics such as PA66-GF, PP, and PC/ABS, which demand a welding process that does not damage internal battery cells or compromise their performance. Traditional welding methods may introduce vibration or excessive heat, which can damage battery cells and cause safety hazards. DaokeDao laser welding provides a non-contact, low-thermal-impact solution that protects battery cells during assembly. The laser energy is precisely focused on the weld joint, minimizing the heat-affected zone (≤0.3mm) and avoiding material deformation. It achieves a hermetic seal that meets IP67 standards, preventing moisture and dust intrusion that can cause battery short circuits. The welds are strong and durable, withstanding mechanical impact and vibration during vehicle operation. Our laser systems support automated production lines, enabling high-volume manufacturing (up to 80 units/hour) of battery components with consistent quality. They comply with strict safety standards such as IEC 62133 and IATF 16949, helping battery manufacturers improve the safety, reliability, and service life of automotive battery packs by up to 40%.
