The HP turbine blade of the gas turbine is the core thermal component of the gas turbine, and the working environment is extremely harsh. It is required to withstand the extreme high temperature above 1600 ℃, the high speed rotating centrifugal force of 100000 rpm for a long time, and the strong scouring and corrosion of the high temperature gas. It is easy to have the thermal barrier coating peeling off, the blade leading edge erosion, microcracks and other faults. These failures will lead to the decline of high temperature resistance and strength of the blade, and in serious cases, the blade will be broken, resulting in the shutdown of the gas turbine, and even safety accidents. High-pressure turbine blades are made of special materials (mostly single-crystal superalloy), with high processing difficulty, high cost, expensive to replace with new blades and long supply period. Dow Laser Cladding Equipment adopts cobalt-based Stellite 21 alloy powder cladding scheme for the extreme high temperature working condition of HP turbine blade of gas turbine. The alloy has excellent high temperature resistance, wear resistance and corrosion resistance, which can effectively repair various defects of blade.

The equipment adopts the micro-beam laser cladding technology, and the thickness of the heat affected zone is strictly controlled within 0.3mm, so as to avoid damaging the single crystal structure of the blade matrix and ensure that the mechanical property of the repaired blade is not degraded. The high-precision visual positioning system can accurately repair the defects at the blade edge, leading edge and other complex parts, and the cladding layer is metallurgically bonded with the blade matrix, with the bonding strength ≥ 500MPa. The first stage HP turbine blade of DR-59L gas turbine in a gas power plant was locally worn due to peeling off of thermal barrier coating, and the high temperature endurance was only 120MPa. With the repair of Dow laser cladding equipment, the high-temperature durable strength of the blade is increased to 180MPa, and the service life reaches 92% of the new parts, fully meeting the safe operation requirements of the gas turbine. The repair cost is only 35% of the replacement cost of new blade. The cost saved by a single blade is over RMB 500000, and the repair period is only 7 days, which is much shorter than the 30-day period for replacement of new blade, greatly reducing the shutdown loss of the power plant.
