Aerospace landing gear components need to have both high strength and fatigue resistance. Traditional titanium alloy components need to be scrapped in case of minor damage, resulting in extremely high costs. The Daokedao automated laser cladding equipment uses TC4 titanium alloy powder to repair damaged parts such as landing gear axles and brackets. The tensile strength of the cladding layer reaches over 900MPa, and the fatigue life has increased to 95% of the original product compared to before repair, with a weight increase of only 0.5%. A case study of an aviation maintenance company shows that the cost of repairing a set of landing gear components is only one-third of that of a new product, and the repair cycle is shortened to 7 days. The inert gas protection system of the equipment avoids oxidation problems during titanium alloy melting, ensuring performance meets standards.
