Metallurgical continuous casting rolls operate under high-temperature conditions above 1000°C and are subjected to molten steel erosion. Traditional overlay welding repairs are prone to thermal cracking, while thermal spray coatings are susceptible to oxidation and spalling at high temperatures, resulting in a service life of only 1-2 months. Frequent replacements lead to production halts in the steelmaking process.

The Daoke Dao laser cladding equipment utilizes high-temperature wear-resistant nickel-based alloy powder. The cladding layer maintains 90% of its strength at temperatures up to 1200°C, with wear resistance five times that of traditional surfacing. The equipment employs low-stress cladding technology, ensuring deformation of continuous casting rolls ≤0.05mm to prevent compromising the accuracy of billet forming. The bonding strength exceeds 400MPa.

The repaired continuous casting rolls have an extended service life of 6-8 months. After adopting this technology, a steel enterprise achieved annual maintenance cost savings exceeding 1.5 million yuan and improved the operational rate of its steelmaking production line by 30%, perfectly meeting the stringent demands of high-temperature and heavy-load conditions in the metallurgical industry.
