The water turbine shaft of hydraulic power generation equipment is immersed in water for a long time, facing sediment wear and water quality corrosion. Traditional thermal spray coatings have high porosity and are prone to substrate corrosion and coating peeling due to water ingress. The service life is only 2-3 years, making maintenance difficult.

The Daokedao laser cladding equipment uses corrosion-resistant alloy powder, with a cladding layer density of 99.9%, no pores, and a corrosion resistance of over 1500 hours in salt spray testing. The bonding strength of the coating exceeds 350MPa, and its wear resistance is four times that of thermal spraying. It can be repaired on site without dismantling the water turbine.

The service life of the repaired turbine shaft has been extended to 6-8 years, and the maintenance cost of water conservancy and power generation equipment has been reduced by 70%. After adopting this technology, a certain hydropower station has reduced downtime and power generation losses by more than 2 million yuan per year, ensuring stable power supply.
