The valve core of the oil wellhead equipment works in high-pressure (≥ 70MPa) and high sulfur crude oil environments. The traditional chrome plating layer is easily corroded and peeled off by sulfides, resulting in valve core leakage and loss of wellhead pressure control. Its service life is only 3-4 months.

The Daokedao laser cladding equipment uses sulfur resistant Hastelloy alloy powder, and the corrosion rate of the cladding layer in sulfur-containing crude oil environment is only 0.001mm/a, which is 1/10 of the chromium plating layer. The bonding strength of the coating exceeds 400MPa, with no risk of leakage under high pressure, and the wear resistance is increased by 4 times.

The service life of the repaired valve core has been extended to 1-1.5 years, and the failure rate of oil wellhead leakage has been reduced by 95%. After adopting this technology in a certain oil field, the annual maintenance cost of the wellhead has been reduced by more than 800000 yuan, ensuring the safety of oil extraction.
