Repair of lithium battery electrode mold: Daokedao laser cladding solves the problem of traditional nitride wear

The mold cavity of lithium battery electrode sheet is prone to wear and tear due to metal powder erosion. The hardness of the mold cavity treated with traditional nitriding is low (HRC55-58), and the thickness deviation of the electrode sheet increases after wear, resulting in unstable battery capacity. The service life of the mold is only 10000-20000 molds.

The Daokedao laser cladding equipment uses wear-resistant and anti adhesive alloy powder to deposit a dense coating on the surface of the mold cavity, with a hardness of HRC63-66 and a wear resistance three times that of nitriding treatment. The friction coefficient of the cladding layer is as low as 0.12, effectively reducing the adhesion of metal powder and increasing the qualification rate of the electrode by 12%.

The service life of the repaired mold has been extended to 40000 to 50000 mold cycles, the consistency of lithium battery capacity has been improved by 20%, and the repair cost is only one-third of that of the new mold. After adopting this technology, a certain lithium battery company reduced the cost of mold replacement by 60%, which helped to increase battery production capacity.
