The blades of the induced draft fan in power plants are used in sulfur-containing flue gas and high humidity environments. Blades made of 15MnV material often experience corrosion thinning and wear failure after running for 3000-5000 hours. Nickel based WC composite coating with WC content of 30% -35% and particle size of 45-75 μ m was prepared on the surface of the blade using Dokdo laser cladding technology. By optimizing the laser parameters (power density of 3.5 × 10 ⁴ W/cm ², scanning speed of 8mm/s), ensure uniform distribution of WC particles without burning. The obtained composite coating has a hardness of HRC58 or higher, and its corrosion and wear resistance in dusty flue gas is 5-8 times that of the substrate material, extending the service life of the blades from 6-8 months to 2-3 years and significantly reducing the number of power plant shutdowns and maintenance.
