One significant advantage of laser cladding technology is its flexibility in material selection. For different service conditions of the shaft head (such as wear, corrosion, fatigue), it is possible to accurately select the matching alloy powder like tailoring to the specific needs. For wear-resistant working conditions, high carbon iron-based alloys can be selected; To resist corrosive environments, nickel based or cobalt based alloys can be used; To improve fatigue resistance, powders containing specific strengthening phases can be selected. Through this targeted material design, a functional gradient coating is prepared on the surface of the shaft head, which enables the repaired shaft head to surpass the new product in terms of surface performance (such as hardness and corrosion resistance) in key areas, thus achieving a leap from "restoring to its original state" to "repairing and utilizing the old".
