To solve the problems of wear and noise of new energy vehicle gearbox gears under high-speed operation, an automobile manufacturer has deployed a laser cladding production line in collaboration with Daokeda. The equipment clads a copper-based antifriction composite coating (Cu-Zn-Al alloy + graphite particles) on the surface of 20CrMnTi gears. Through a modular high-speed powder feeding nozzle, it achieves a cladding linear speed of 50-80m/min, with a powder utilization rate exceeding 95%. Tests show that the surface roughness of the clad gear is Ra ≤ 0.8μm, the fatigue life is 65% longer than that of untreated gears, and the operating noise is reduced from 72dB to 58dB. This production line has realized mass production, capable of processing over 200 gears per day, helping the automobile manufacturer reduce the failure rate of the transmission system by 30%.
