The laser cladding process, perfected by Daokedao, is a precise sequence of events. It begins with the laser beam, which is focused onto a small spot on the substrate surface. This concentrated energy creates a microscopic melt pool, often just millimeters in size.
Simultaneously, the cladding material—in the form of fine powder—is injected into this melt pool. The powder particles are instantly melted by the laser energy. As the laser head moves away, the molten material rapidly solidifies, forming a solid bead that is metallurgically fused to the substrate.
This process is repeated, with each bead overlapping the previous one, to create a continuous, uniform coating. Daokedao's sophisticated control systems manage every parameter—laser power, travel speed, powder feed rate—to ensure the quality, consistency, and integrity of the entire clad layer.
