The water pump shaft rotates in the water and is corroded by water quality and worn out by unbalanced impellers. The traditional 45 steel shaft has a service life of only 6-12 months. The Daokedao automated laser cladding equipment uses Ni60A nickel based alloy powder to fuse a 2mm anti-corrosion and wear-resistant layer on the installation parts of the water pump shaft neck and impeller. The cladding layer has excellent water and corrosion resistance, with a hardness of HRC50-55 and a wear resistance four times higher than the original shaft. According to the application of a certain water plant, the service life of the water pump shaft after melting has been extended to 36 months, the failure rate of the water pump has been reduced from 15% to 1%, and the annual maintenance cost of a single water pump has been saved by more than 12000 yuan. The universal melting fixture of the equipment shaft is compatible with different types of water pump shafts.
