Application of laser cladding tungsten carbide alloy in woodworking planer spindle

The installation of the woodworking planer spindle with a planer blade for cutting wood is affected by the wear and vibration impact of wood chips. The traditional 45 steel spindle has a service life of only 8-12 months, and the decrease in accuracy affects the processing quality. The Daokedao automated laser cladding equipment uses WC Co tungsten carbide alloy powder to fuse a 2mm wear-resistant layer at the installation site of the spindle cutter seat. The hardness of the cladding layer is HRC65-70, and the wear resistance is 5 times higher than that of the original spindle, with a dimensional accuracy error of ≤ 0.01mm. A furniture factory application shows that the service life of the spindle is extended to 48 months after cladding, and the compliance rate of wood processing surface roughness is increased by 15%. The precision spindle cladding technology of the equipment ensures the positioning accuracy of the tool seat.
