The crankshaft of automobile engines is prone to journal wear and fatigue cracks due to long-term high-speed operation, and the cost of replacing a single crankshaft with a new one exceeds 20000 yuan. The Daokedao automated laser cladding equipment uses Ni-Cr-B-Si nickel based self melting alloy powder to repair damaged crankshaft necks. By using specialized fixtures for axis positioning and precise laser path planning, the fusion layer is metallurgically combined with the substrate, with a hardness of HRC45-50 and dimensional accuracy restored to the original standard. A case study from a certain automobile repair shop shows that repairing a crankshaft costs only 3000 yuan and takes only 8 hours. After repair, the crankshaft passed a 200 hour bench test without any abnormalities. The automated defect detection function of the equipment can locate cracks in advance, ensuring a 99% repair pass rate.
