Minimally invasive repair of aircraft engine blade tips

Aircraft engine blade tip wear of 0.3mm requires scrapping, and the cost of a single blade exceeds $10000. Traditional welding repair can easily cause blade deformation. Daokedao adopts ultra high speed laser cladding technology to melt Inconel 738 alloy at the blade tip. The substrate temperature rise during the cladding process is less than 100 ℃, and the blade deformation is less than 0.01mm. After repairing 50 blades at a Singapore aviation maintenance plant, the cost of repairing each blade was only $3000, saving a total cost of $350000. The repaired blades passed high-temperature strength testing and maintained 98% of their original tensile strength at 1000 ℃, obtaining maintenance certification from Pratt&Whitney.
