Water turbine rotor blades, ship propellers and other parts are mostly streamlined and complex curved surfaces. Traditional welding technology is difficult to accurately control the melting path and coating thickness, and after repair, problems such as uneven coating and large performance differences often occur, affecting the work efficiency of the parts. The Daokedao laser cladding equipment is equipped with a six axis linkage robot and a 3D scanning positioning system, which can accurately scan and model complex surfaces. The generated cladding path has a repeatability accuracy of ± 0.05mm, which can perfectly fit the contour of the surface for cladding, ensuring that the coating thickness difference is less than 0.1mm. The turbine blades of a hydroelectric power station in Norway suffered wear due to long-term erosion. After repairing with this equipment, the surface coating uniformity of the blades reached 99%, and the hydraulic efficiency of the turbine increased by 2.3%. The annual additional electricity generation of a single turbine is 1.2 million kWh. Calculated according to local electricity prices, the annual income is about 100000 euros. At the same time, the anti erosion life of the repaired blades has been extended by three times, reducing the number of maintenance shutdowns and further improving the operational efficiency of the hydropower station.
