Repair of lithium battery ear mold: Daokedao laser cladding solves the traditional quenching wear problem

The mold cavity of lithium battery pole ear is prone to wear and tear due to metal foil erosion. The hardness of the mold cavity treated with traditional quenching is low (HRC58-60), and the cutting accuracy of the pole ear decreases after wear, resulting in poor battery connection. The service life of the mold is only 10000-20000 molds.

The Daokedao laser cladding equipment uses wear-resistant and anti stick alloy powder to deposit a dense coating on the surface of the mold cavity, with a hardness of HRC65-68 and wear resistance three times that of quenching treatment. The friction coefficient of the cladding layer is as low as 0.1, effectively reducing the adhesion of metal foil and increasing the qualification rate of the electrode ear by 12%.

The service life of the repaired mold has been extended to 40000 to 50000 mold cycles, and the consistency of the lithium battery pole ear connection has been improved by 20%. The repair cost is only 1/4 of that of the new mold. After adopting this technology, a certain lithium battery company reduced the cost of mold replacement by 60%, which helped upgrade the quality of batteries.
