Laser cladding repair of die-casting molds using Daokedao equipment to improve mold service life

Die casting molds are exposed to high temperature, high pressure, and alternating cold and hot environments for a long time. Parts such as the mold cavity and sprue opening are prone to wear, cracking, and mold sticking, which directly affect the quality of castings and the lifespan of the mold. Traditional mold repair methods have complex processes and poor repair effects, while replacing new molds is costly. Laser cladding strengthening of die-casting molds has become an efficient solution for mold maintenance.

The Daokedao laser cladding equipment is specially designed for the repair and strengthening of die-casting molds, and can perform precise laser cladding repair on the worn and cracked parts of the mold. Using ultrafine alloy powder, a coating is formed by laser high-temperature melting to metallurgically bond with the mold substrate. The hardness of the coating can be adjusted to HRC55-HRC65 according to demand, which combines high hardness and good toughness, effectively resisting wear and thermal shock. This mold laser cladding equipment supports complex surface trajectory planning and can accurately repair key parts such as mold cavities and core pulling. After repair, the mold size accuracy error is ≤ 0.03mm, and there is no need for subsequent extensive polishing and processing.

The molds processed by the laser cladding equipment of Jingdao Kedao die-casting molds have a 2-3 times longer service life, significantly reduced mold sticking phenomenon, increased casting qualification rate by 8% -12%, significantly reduced mold replacement and maintenance costs, and created considerable economic benefits for die-casting enterprises.
