The sealing surface of high parameter valves is prone to erosion and corrosion failure due to long-term exposure to high temperature, high pressure, and corrosive media. The sealing surface of the valve is strengthened using a 5kW transverse flow CO2 laser from Daokedao, with a laser power of 2-4 kW and a scanning speed of 4-10mm/s. Cobalt based or nickel based alloy powder is melted and coated. Compared with traditional plasma spray welding, the microstructure of laser cladding layer is finer and more uniform, with grain size reaching 10-12 levels and microhardness increased by 20% -40%. In the four typical corrosive media of H2SO4, HNO3, NaOH, and urea, the corrosion rate of the laser cladding layer is only 1/3-1/5 of that of the plasma spray welding layer, and the wear resistance is improved by more than 5 times. This technology has been successfully applied in high-end valve manufacturing in fields such as nuclear power and petrochemicals, extending the service life of valves by 2-3 times.
