Traditional laser cladding is prone to deformation of workpieces when repairing thin-walled parts such as hydraulic cylinders and air cylinders due to relatively high heat input. Ultra high speed laser cladding (EHLA) technology perfectly solves this problem with its extremely high scanning speed (up to 200m/min) and minimal heat input.
The principle of EHLA technology is that the powder is fully heated by the laser beam to a molten or semi molten state before reaching the melt pool. After hitting the surface of the substrate, metallurgical bonding can be achieved with very little energy, and the entire process requires only 1/3 to 1/2 of the heat input of traditional laser cladding.
When repairing hydraulic cylinder barrels with a wall thickness of only 5-8mm, EHLA technology hardly causes deformation of the cylinder body, and there is no need for large-scale straightening processes after repair, which can be directly precision machined. At the same time, the coating obtained by EHLA is smoother and smoother, with smaller processing allowance and higher production efficiency. This technology has opened up a new technological path for the remanufacturing of thin-walled components.
