When processing stainless steel, hard alloy drill bits are prone to edge breakage due to their high material toughness and poor thermal conductivity. After breakage, traditional methods cannot repair it and can only be scrapped. The cost of a single drill bit exceeds 100 yuan, and the tool wear rate exceeds 30%. Daokedao laser cladding uses hard alloy powder of the same material, and accurately repairs the damaged parts through micro beam laser (power 500W). After repair, the cutting edge size error is ≤ 0.01mm, the hardness is consistent with the substrate (HRA90-92), and the cutting performance is not degraded. A certain aviation parts factory repaired the broken edge of a Φ 8mm hard alloy drill bit, and processed 304 stainless steel plate after the repair. The drilling accuracy reached H8 level, and there was no obvious wear after 200 consecutive drilling holes, which is equivalent to the performance of a new drill bit. After application, the scrap rate of drill bits decreased from 30% to 5%, with over 2000 drill bits repaired annually, saving 180000 yuan in tool procurement costs and reducing the environmental pressure caused by the disposal of waste tools.
