When processing glass fiber and calcium carbonate fillers on extruder screws, high hardness fillers cause strong abrasive wear on the surface of the screw, and traditional processing techniques are difficult to meet long-term stable production needs. The Daokedao automated laser cladding equipment, with its independently developed intelligent control system, adopts a multi-channel cladding process. By precisely controlling the laser power, scanning speed, and powder feeding amount, the uniformity error of the coating thickness on the screw surface is controlled within ± 0.05mm. The cladding layer is made of tungsten carbide nickel based alloy composite powder, and the microhardness test shows that it reaches HV1200, which is more than 4 times higher than ordinary nitriding treatment.

In the PE water supply pipe production line of a large pipe manufacturing enterprise, the original screw has an average service life of only 20 days when processing 30% glass fiber filling material, and the extrusion amount fluctuates by ± 5% due to wear, with a product wall thickness tolerance exceeding ± 0.3mm. After applying the Daokedao laser cladding technology, a dense metallurgical bonding layer is formed on the surface of the screw, and there are no visible wear marks after continuous operation for 90 days. The extrusion amount fluctuation is controlled within ± 1%, and the product wall thickness tolerance is stably maintained within the range of ± 0.1mm. Through this technological improvement, the enterprise has reduced the cost of screw replacement by 60% annually, and has also obtained an increase in customer special orders due to the improvement of product quality, achieving both economic benefits and quality reputation enhancement.
